Memorial Park – A Tribute to History & Sacrifice
Established on 4 April 1945, Memorial Park was donated by the Hickman and Johnson families in memory of their sons, John Reginald Hickman and Ronald Douglas Johnson, who lost their lives in World War II.
The parkland has deep historical roots, once home to Springdale Farm, the first dairy in Kloof, and a playground for generations of children.
Today, the park remains a place of natural beauty, with Ronald’s Kloof Stream flowing through it, connecting to the Krantzkloof Nature Reserve.
Dedicated to the Kloof men who served and fell in WWII, Memorial Park stands as a lasting tribute to their sacrifice.
If you have historical photos or information about others from Kloof who died in WWII, please contact info@kloofconservancy.org.za.
